How it works

Ormeloxifene acts on oestrogen receptors. It has a weak estrogenic and potent antiestrogenic actions. As a contraceptive, it prevents proliferation and decidualisation of the endometrium, enhances blastocyst formation and slightly increases embryo transport through the oviducts.

How to take SEVISTA 30mg Tablet?

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take SEVISTA 30mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow SEVISTA 30mg Tablet whole tablet. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
If you miss a dose of SEVISTA 30mg Tablet, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.

Effective

Sevista is nearly as effective as the normal birth control pill. If it's taken consistently, fewer than 2 in 100 women get pregnant within the first year, compared to fewer than 1 in 100 women with hormonal pills. By comparison, your chances of getting pregnant without using any birth control method is 85 in 100.

Bi-Weekly To Weekly Dose

You’ve got to take Sevista twice a week for the first three months. But after that you take just one pill a week.
What this means practically is that if your period starts on Monday, you take the pill every Monday and Thursday for the first three months. Starting on the fourth month, you only take it once a week every Monday.
